    The Hoodie

After trying different brands such as POC and 7mesh this is the best hoodie you can buy. I wish it had a winch cord

It’s OK at best for the exorbitant price

I own lots of high quality cycling clothing and I own lots of high quality hoodies and high quality merino wool layers. This item for the price falls a little flat. For the $180 price tag it just does not feel or fit particularly great. I own lots of similar items made of merino wool that cost $60-$80 less, that I own duplicates of, because they are very comfortable and warm. This hoodie is o.k. The only reason I’m keeping it is the pocket on the back. If not for that I’d have returned this item.

Downgrade in Fabric. A nice but less nice hoodie.

I still like this hoodie, but the fabric has definitely been downgraded. It used to be made of amazing wool. Now it feels more like plastic?

It's also lost the cool red accents.

If we are doing different colors. Can we do one on Red?

Staple still, but going wrong direction.

This is my 5th Cobra. Happy to see the wrist pocket go and thumb holes remain. Dont miss the drawstring. Sewing / shape has gotten more consistent.

HOWEVER, the hoodie continues to increase in price while reducing merino content, despite other value engineering steps listed above. Time to either dial the merino content back up or adjust pricing downward. This garment was a first mover in the market years ago, but no longer is.

    Update to My Previous Review

    Update to my previous review.

I've owned the black Cobra 3.0 for over a month. I wear it every day around the house. Not washed, as you do not wash merino wool unless needed. This new fabric mixture of 53% wool, 44% polyester and 3% spandex is already beginning to lightly pill. Previous versions never did this. Also every little hair and lint is sticking to the outside of this new fabric unlike the previous 100% merino wool versions. So, I would NOT recommend black. The double zipper is annoying. The bottom zip likes to creep up and you are constantly messing around with it. I do however love the larger fit and not the normal bike clothing industry fit.

I can only give this a 3 stars. The price is ridiculous for the quality of product you get. They need to go back to the version 1 and 2 materials.
