This 2022 Giving Tuesday we’re proud to announce that a portion of all proceeds of our iconic Citizen bag will be donated to Portland based non-profit, p:ear, an organization dedicated to offering tools for self discovery and resiliency as young people move through and beyond houselessness. Proceeds will directly benefit, p:ear’s newest arm, bike works, a social purpose enterprise bike shop that not only provides high quality bike repair, but builds pathways for youth to gain meaningful employment training opportunities and continuing bike mechanic education.

“We’re thrilled to have selected p:ear bike works as our official partner this Giving Tuesday. We’re proud to support such an aligned, mission based organization within our own backyard. At Chrome our mission is to inspire movement and we believe that the more people who opt to jump on two wheels the better the world will be.” said, Chrome President, Phil College.

Your purchase of a Citizen bag will directly impact the organization and be used to provide high quality bike mechanic training and stipends and wages for youth involved in both bike mechanic school and internships at the shop in East County.

“The success of bike works by p:ear relies on the strength of our East Portland community and the drive of p:ear's youth bike mechanics. We believe every p:ear youth has a vibrant future. Your contribution means bike works by p:ear can continue to be a place of stability, exploration, and personal growth for young people. Additionally, your contribution supports our sliding scale for repair and parts for folx experiencing financial hardship.” said Nate Engkjer, Director of p:ear bike works.

*2% of all Citizen sales will be donated to p:ear bike works, with a minimum donation of $15,000
