Back for another lap of bag stories. Gear put to work, hauling lives from point A onward. Every scrape, patch, and well-earned scar marks the miles, the moments, and the stuff worth carrying.
Stick around—and if your bag’s got a story of its own, send it our way. We’re always listening.

Hello! My name is Steve, I live in Chicago and I’ve been rocking my Chrome backpack since 2011(the same one). It’s been with me almost daily as well as on every trip I’ve taken.
It’s been to South Africa, Cuba, all over Europe, Canada, our beautiful National Parks (the park down the street too) and Latin America. It’s ridden with me on a bike on trips from Detroit to Chicago, Minnesota to Chicago and elsewhere. It’s been packed with hot food, computers, tons of ice and beer (the vinyl inside is FINALLY shot). The rest is still in good shape. When I got it I was 28, single, I had hair down to the middle of my back and I was 40 pounds lighter. Haha now I’m married, 2 kids and well…you know.
This backpack isn’t just a backpack to me. It’s comfort. It’s my friend. I trust it and it knows me. That might sound dumb, but it’s really kept me company in every scenario possible. I love it so much. Thank you for making such great products.

My Chrome journey started back in the 1900s. I saw a Chrome bag slung over the shoulder of a bike messenger in NYC, and I knew that was the bag for me. I called the company convinced I wanted the biggest bag you had, and you refused to sell it to me, convinced it was too big for my needs as a teacher.
I caved and bought the bag that you recommended. It has been a faithful companion and is used 184 days a year. I have not been kind to the bag, and in over 20 years of use all the damage it has sustained has been a broken 1 inch buckle and the cool Chrome logo has fallen off the seat belt buckle.
Now, we have three chrome bags in the family, a purse for my wife and a backpack for one of my littles. Chrome bags are awesome, and just work! Keep doing what you are doing.

My Chrome bag story started in December 2015 when I purchased my first bag, the Soma. I have purchased several Chrome bags since then, but this one has a special place in my life and my heart.
This bag is nearly a decade old and still looks brand new! A testament to the craftsmanship that goes into these bags. What’s special about this bag for me, is that it’s been on every single flight and road trip with me over that decade. Sometimes I’ve lived out of it, so it has held all of my essentials for whatever trip I was on, and for a long period of time, it was my daily work bag as well.
Not only has it been reliable, but it’s also sentimental because it’s been there with me for concerts, vacations, music festivals, long trips and short trips and everything in between. It has allowed me to come into my own as a solo female traveler and gain the confidence that comes along with that. It’s been all over this country with me, from Seattle to Oakland, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Boise, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Memphis and probably some cities that I’m forgetting. It has taken a beating over the years and even overstuffing it repeatedly hasn’t changed how sturdy the bag is.
I took 40 flights alone with it in 2017, and it’s currently under the seat in front of me on yet another flight from Denver to SLC while following my favorite band on tour. I foresee many more adventures with this bag in the future! Thanks for making such great bags that make for unforgettable memories!
