    Great Shoe, Great Price

I've been a long time customer of Chrome and I had high hopes for these but I have been delighted so far. I wore them in one day loading a truck, and after that I wear them everyday at work as a bike mechanic. The size 12 fits true to size imo - they tend to fit a little loose but with a Chelsea boot that's somewhat expected. They seem built well, easy to get on and off. Warm, good weather protection, and they look great. Honestly would mind picking up another pair this time in black. Would def recommend if you're on the fence and want a cool boot to wear around, light duty, and rep Chrome ! For reference I've had mine about 3 weeks now.

Did Keen make you change your soles because you losing money?

I've had several pair of the Dima 2 and Dima 3 all of which are still technically wearable and have life left in them after years of abuse. My Dima 3s still have visible lettering and rubber you would have expected to wear out first in tact.

My initial thoughts on the Boyer Boot questioned the sizing. After a couple weeks of wear my instinctive selection of an 8.5 seemed to be the right size for me. The Dima 3 was heavily recommended for sizing down half a size as Chrome noted they ran bigger than normal. I was also concerned with the seam connecting the standard Boyer silhouette to Chelsea style ankle and the warning of its discomfort in several reviews. After spending about 10 minutes massaging/ rolling those seams the discomfort is starting to fade and the shoe feels great.

The most noticeable difference I'm feeling is that of the quality of the sole and how much thinner it seems in comparison to my several pairs of Dimas. I mentioned I had pairs of the 2nd and 3rd editions of the Dima. There was a great difference from the 2 to the 3 which shifted the already great Chrome sole pattern and sticky gum rubber to Panaracer tire rubber. The Panaracer rubber took an already long lasting shoe to new heights. Like I mentioned my Dima 3s still have legible text in the rubber despite almost 4 years of weekly abuse. I know the Dimas had a plastic shank for power transfer and I also rode with 3rd party in soles. I can't help but to notice how much thinner the soles on the Boyer…

    Barely green!

Only 4 and not 5 because I forgot how much more saturated product colors can look on screen vs in person. Thought I was purchasing an earthy olive/army green shoe - in person the "sage/gum" is very light, almost gray, and way more neutral than expected. Fit, construction, comfort are all 5 stars.

    Quality trotters

A very well-made and original take on the Chelsea boot, with a tough build. The sizing instructions on how to measure assured the right fit, and it’s advisable to size down.

The only glaringly obvious mistake within the construction and I’m not sure how it was missed is the reflective top loop, which is sewn in a position that is thoroughly uncomfortable, digging aggressively into the top of the foot. This demands that the boot be broken in gradually, as others have rightfully pointed out. I’d be more irritated if I had purchased them at full price, but at the current price, they still remain a really high-quality, stylish boot that forgives a somewhat clumsy oversight in ergonomics.

I’ll likely pick up the black pair too and weather the breaking-in period again.
