    How my favorite hoodie ever became a scam

    They still call this the merino. But they SHOULD call it it the production cost reducer - because when this hoodie was pure merino wool, it was one of the best and highest quality hoodies on the market. And the price made sense. Now it's one of the most disappointing and overpriced hoodies on the market, and I will never support chrome again until they go back to using 100% merino wool.

    See, you can't build a brand and a customer base on high quality, rugged, durable products and then switch from the best materials like merino wool to cheap, low quality materials like chinese polyester, keep the retail price of the garment unchanged (or increased) and expect to retain your customers. That's why Carhartt gets my clothing business and my bag is a reload - because chrome hasn't been worth buying for over a decade.

    Downgraded the material

    I have been buying this hoodie over and over for years. Had the 2.0, maybe the 1.0. It's been my favorite hoodie for like 10 years.

    However, my latest one, I noticed my arm pits smelling way worse than I remember, almost immediately after one or two wears.

    I didnt remember this issue on my older ones, them I read reviews talking about how its a polyester blend, instead of 100% merino, and I am sure thats the issue. I hope next round they go back to 100% merino.

    Nicely made and well-styled...

    One of the few pieces of biking clothes that actually looks cool AND is functional. A little snug fitting but not bad at all (maybe I should lay off the stouts):

    Sumptuous Fabric

    It has a great feel, so soft and warm. I’m going to miss wearing it when the weather warms up. Many great design features-the pockets, hood and thumb holes, great color (brown) and I feel stylish wearing it.
