    Poor replacement for the Medium MD (1.5") Seatbelt Buckle

    I have a few of the older Medium "MD" Seatbelt buckle for 1.5 inch straps, and it was amazing. My wife bought the Kadet Mini which used this buckle, and I have used the "MD" seatbelt buckle as a belt buckle for the last 4 years.

    I bought a new Kadet Mini for myself, and the language on the product page still mentions the MD buckles. And was I surprised when the Small buckle claimed to be for the Kadet Mini now...

    This is obviously a condensing of the Small size for 1" straps which was previously introduced as the Keychain and Camera Strap buckles, but now with the strap slots to cover the small and medium straps. It is not satisfying.

    All the buckles were changed to use some lighter or thinner materials, my Comrade bag from 12 years ago that got me hooked on the brand is built like a tank, but this specific buckle is not impressive in the least. I'm glad I happened to stock pile a few Mediums a year or two ago, but I'm sad that it might have been discontinued.

    The photo I've attached shows from left to right, This buckle in chrome, the unavailable MD seatbelt buckle on my new Kadet Mini, and a Large buckle which my wife has used as a waist belt. In my opinion, the new Small is not attractive and feels like a toy.

    Cheap buckle thats finish comes off

    After a few uses the buckle finish is already peeling and the company wont honor their warranty, i keep very good care of my things. This belongs in the trash can

    Nice, BUT….

    I know being made of aluminum is helpful weight-wise, but it seems a little flimsy? And although it is the size recommended for my new Mini Kadet 5L, the end where the strap attaches on the shoulder side is too narrow and the sharp sides/edges of it will slowly but surely cut through the webbing. Finally, I really wanted the matte black but it was unavailable in this size. I really like the look and concept of it, though, just a super cool overall look.
