    Disappointing customer service

If you live outside the US, don’t let them fool you with their life time warranty. A seam at the bottom of my bag opened. They said it can’t be repaired and offered me a gift card with 165 $. Problem: the bags are much more expensive outside the US. 165 $ are ~140 €, but the bag costs 200 € + 25 € shipping. I told them but they didn’t care. Really disappointing experience.

could be the best of all time BUT.. quality issues.

i love this bag so much. it's been on boats, planes, beaches, and everywhere in between. In the pouring rain, in scorching sun. you get the idea. But I am so bummed about the life span of this bag. Because of the laminated canvas and welted seams, it kicks to bucket sooner than i want it to. First off, the lamination starts to deterioriate around the mouth. Today, i was at the beach searching for something and notices that the welted seam at the bottom busted itself open and how has a huge hole at the bottom.

Another feature that is unfortunate is that the coating at the bottom of the bag wears out pretty quickly. For me, that means in a couple of years. I have efficiently used various contact cements, shoe glue, etc to fix the bag DIY but alas. I may have to purchase URBAN XL for the 3rd time. Bummed because other than the small structural failures, the rest of the bag is FINE but it has mostly been rendered useless. I wish CHROME had a repair department. Consumer products wear out, yes. I think this one has had maybe a 8-10 year run with with me- Not of daily use but of "often" use with a few years taken off for the pandemic. So really, let's say it has lasted me about 5 years.

Another thing I am disappointed about is that I am almost certain the size of this bag has changed. a few times. Maybe there used to be a 28L? or 35L? Kind of confusing! They changed the design a few years ago- the front used to have 4 loops and now only has 3 pronounced ones. The straps also used to…

    Perfect for me

I’ve had this bag about 3 months now using it daily. It has replaced my chrome barrage which was a main for about a year until I overloaded on a hiking trip and one of the adjustment straps broke, (since then the design was updated to prevent it, still a great bag)

Got this using a voucher warrant replacement for my barrage, some of the designs where causing issues for daily use

    Pros

    - works as a cabin bag when half loaded, fits under seat

    - Nice big opening, very easy to get in and out off and see what’s in without removing everything

    - Very comfy on back cycling even when fully loaded, (initial discomfort but this was due to my bike fit, when fix it went away straight away)

    - Light espically compared to the barrage initial was surprised at how durable it feels for the weight and how comfy it is , very easy to fold

    - Expandable, great for daily use, built in compartments for laptop and accessories with plenty of space for shopping and a change of clothes

    - Easy fit for lock on the loops on back

    - Waterproof, had no issues

    - Can strap a yoga mat to the outside using the opening straps, very secure, no issues cycling with it

    - side pocket perfect for Id for work

    Nitpicks

    - not as as rigid as the barrage so not as good for loading up, 3 cases beer where not comfy

    - Can’t seem to roll as nice in the photos, was hesitant to get based on reviews but found that you can clamp the top strap together from a photo on instagram, would be good to include in the promo photos.…

    Replacement bag

This is a replacement for an Urban Ex 30L bag I have and I love it. I already knew I loved this bag, but it has undergone a few updates since I bought mine and they’re all brilliant. It’s been tweaked to perfection. And I love the color! Lifelong Chrome fan here for sure.
