I love this bag. After years of happy use of a Mission Workshop Shed (large messenger) I thought I should finally try some Chrome when I needed a new sling/crossbody. This thing is well built, rugged, certainly waterproof enough, and surprisingly capacious… plus very comfortable (I’m walking/commute skateboarding with mine.). I thought I’d been daft picking white, when I put mine down in shallow snow and it picked up all kinds of mud and dirt from underneath… but it’s wiped clean wonderfully so far. Looks great too! And the zips that some find a bit tough? I find them reassuringly secure. Easily opened and closed using your other hand on the very helpful holding tabs. Just tougher than a normal zip. And the included zip lube is helpful. I used to be in the beach launch crew of the local lifeboat (not very humble brag!) and the zips on our dry suits were so much harder to pull open. Kadet WP zips are blissfully easy by comparison. As somebody that likes to fussily over-organise the contents of my bag, I do wish I’d also picked up the organiser pocket insert, but that’s on me. Extra points for wildly fast international shipping.

My partner just bought me the waterproof Kadet Sling in Black and it is everything I could want in a super-wallet size bag. I’m a bigger guy and there is plenty of adjustability, max space for essentials plus a couple books, and the quality is supreme, as is always the case with Chrome. Only thing changed was I immediately ordered a black metal buckle, cuz… well, I can’t live my life with a plastic buckle knowing there’s a metal buckle out there. All in all, it will be my bike-around and carry-on probably until I’m dead.

I’m in the ever-rainy PNW and it’s tough to find something truly waterproof. I was a bit hesitant to buy this since I saw comments lamenting the bag’s reluctant zippers and overall stiffness, but neither of those have been an issue for me. And, better still, it fits my iPad Pro 11” with Magic Keyboard in my padded TomToc sleeve, which I didn’t expect.

It’s also especially nice with the black seatbelt buckle and feels incredibly well built. I’ve been delighted with my other waterproof gear from Chrome and while I haven’t tested this in the rain yet, everything I’ve experienced so far feels confidence inspiring.
