Let me start by saying that I already own the Kadet 9L sling which I absolutely love. I travel with that bag and use it on the weekend.

This bag is just as awesome! I use during the week for work to carry my laptop and steam deck. I had the opportunity to test it in the rain, everything inside was dry and no water leaked in.

It fits sturdy on your back and the bag is lightweight yet so strong.

I have purchased numerous bags from other companies before but they weren’t what I was looking for. I should have gone with my gut and come back to Chrome Industries first.

I will definitely order another bag should I need something larger and smaller. You can’t go wrong with any of their products.

I've been using Chrome bags for 20 years, this one just feels like they cut down on features and quality but kept the price high.

The less than great:

Keyring - used to be metal and solid, now a flimsy piece of plastic that key rings fall off of.

No internal pockets with zippers, my old chrome backpack, messenger bag and sling packs all have have at least one zippered internal compartment. The Kadet max only has one zippered compartment and it's external.

Fit and finish on the buckle and strap adjusting connection - adjusting the strap is not smooth, you can feel the buckle and strap fighting it feels like the strap is going to fray if I don't sand down the edges on the buckle. The newer buckle assembly just feel cheap compared to the older buckles.

No easily accessible U-lock storage.

Bring back the secret stash pockets!!

The good:

The size is perfect, the compression straps to reduce it's size when empty are great!

Being able to move the strap connectors is a great feature making the bag more versatile.

Laptop sleeve - nice and padded on both sides, helps the back out!
